Need help picking out hose...
I have a friend who has graciously offered to knit me some hose to match my new Robertson red modern kilt (The fabric is in the mail Matt). She just emailed me four photos to choose the pattern. I was immediately drawn to one, but thought I'd post my choices for feedback from the rabble.
I'm also torn about the color. Bottle green or navy.
Here's the tartan:
And the pattern choices are below:

Choice 1:
Choice 2:
Choice 3:
Choice 4:
Thanks for the feedback!

I'd go with bottle green, but that's just me. Do you have other kilts that you'd want to wear the hose with... that could be a deciding factor, too. I always try for the most "interchange-ability".
Tough choice on the patterns, but I like 2 and 4 for their somewhat simpler appearance. 3 is pretty spectacular but has a lot going on... but it might not be so in a darker color. You've got a talented friend!

Thanks KFCarter. I am all for being able to wear these with multiple kilts. This kilt will be my first nice wool kilt. I have plans for a couple of others that will be Robertson tartans as well; a tank in hunting ancient being next on the list.
These hose will definitely be the nicest that I own and will be reserved for special occasions. So, I'm not concerned if they coordinate with my knockabout kilts.

Well, if the hose are to go with your eventual collection of Robertson tanks, then I think either the navy or bottle green will work. I still lean toward the bottle green because I think it can work with your tanks for daywear when paired with daywear accessories, and still work for more formal wear when dressed up with the right accessories... I don't think navy makes that transition as well... but keep in mind, I'm prejudiced and just not that big a fan of navy. BTW, IMHO the Robertson Ancient Hunting is a beautiful tartan.

Bottle Green and Number 3. Red flashes if you can manage them.

I would go with pattern #2 or #4.
Looking at my Robertson kilts, including the ones that aren't made yet, I would choose the bottle green. KFCarter makes a good point about the green being able to be dressed both up and down.
