Clothes Horse?
If you were invited to the Houston "Musselburgh Races" Day then a kilt would be okay. But since it's supposed to be Ascot (which is the dressiest horse race on the planet), then you might want to consider dressing like, well, Ascot.
I went to Ascot on several occasions with my pals in Scotland, and none of us wore kilts, nor do I recall seeing anyone kilted at the races.
Okay, Zardoz posted his pictures while I was writing the above. Now that I've seen how they dress for "Ascot Day" in Houston... please wear the kilt. It will improve things beyond all measure!

"Clothes Horse" - Now why didn't I think of that one! Thanks, MoR.
