Of course Hunting Stewart happens to be my favourite tartan.
Well it is a sure bit easier on the eyes than Royal Stewart. Depending on how my kilt savings go, I might add that to my list. (I have a Stewart ancestor, really far back, but they are there..)

I like those uniforms, especially the striped hose. The red tunic reminds of the tunic that the RCMP pipe bands wear.

Thanks for the ID. As I wrote the word Clan it didn't feel right.

Hello Mael Coluim, glad to meet you. I am trying to find a bigger version of
the crest, it's the crest of the Ministery of defence and the Queens coat of arms for Scotland (well part of it).

It actually is not the crest of the Ministry of Defence. The motto "In defens" is HM The Queen's Motto in Scotland, an abbreviation of "In My Defens God Me Defend."

The Ministry of Defense uses as a badge the following:

Sorry about the quality, but here is a picture of the badge of the Queen Victoria School. I'm looking forward to seeing TSJ's pic, as well!

Nice to meet you Tartan Shortbread Jock,
I agree the uniform has a smart look. I notice a fellow wearing a plaid and brooch. What is the significance of that?

    Cheers, Scott

Thanks for that JSFMACLJR, the crest that you show is the crest for the Ministery of Defence for the whole of the UK.
    Scottish Commisioned officers who serve
with the MOD also use the same version as QVS and the Queens version.
Am told diffrent parts of the MOD have there own local crests.
The photos you used are alot better than the ones I have.
