			Demonstrative Talk on Kilts

I will need to do a demonstrative talk on a subject of my choosing with in the next month. I thought I would do a talk on the proper way to hem pants, but after running into so many people who have misconseptions about kilts, I think I want to do it about kilts.
So what should I demonstrate for he kilts? BTW it only is 5-7 minutes. I do have access to manquins so my rogue doesn't have to be my model. So suggestion gentelmen?

Neat-O! My only suggestion is a real model, a dummy is...well a dummy.

					A few ideas.....................
 Brief history
Difference between kilts and pleated skirts
How to accessorize for dress and casual
 Contemporary versus traditional

 Good luck on the presentation.

The audience are people age 25-50 in corperate america. There are motorcycle entusiasists, horse enthusists, fittness people, computer people, in other words a wide variety of cultures and back grounds. To be honest very few of celtic background.

As someone who taught Intro to Speech for 30+ years, I will offer the following. Big Mikey has the right of it for possible topics. I personally would advise you to stick to the difference between a kilt and a pleated skirt.
Whenever a new wannabe want's a kilt, the sticker shock is very real. However when they realise the complexity and labour involved, then they begin to realize that the prices are not at all out of line.

But this is your speech, just remember the general rule, tell 'm what you are going to say, say it, then tell 'em what you said.

 Good luck!

Ha! I can still hear the voice of my teacher saying, "Tell them what you're going to tell them. Tell them. Then tell 'em what you told them."

Because it works when you do it that way.
I'd vote for the difference between a kilt and a kilted skirt, and maybe some very brief history. Good luck !

What a great idea. Not to be sexist at all, but being a woman, you may have a better chance of getting the message through than would a man.
Good luck to you, and let us know how it goes.

So far the outline is - Definition of Kilt according to websters
 -Kilt or Skirt their differences
 -brief history
-Different types of Kilt styles available

There is so much great information just on this site that I'm having a hard time trying to pare it down and make sure I can demonstrate something. Thankfully I've got my hubby's X kilt, and a semi traditional
