Rathdown's New Kilt Has Arrived
I can say this, without the least bit of hesitation, or fear of contradiction: Barbara Tewksbury makes as fine a kilt as those coming from Stewart Christie in Edinburgh. I know, because my new kilt was made by Doctor Tewksbury, and it arrived this morning whilst I was in the shower. The timing of the delivery, therefor, couldn't have been better and, as soon I as was dry, I tried it on.
The fit is excellent, and the workmanship-- well the workmanship is perfect. Barbara indulged my preference for three buckles and, with gentle argument, convinced me to forgo the belt loops which have always graced my kilts in the past. It is difficult to "center the sett" on an asymetrical tartan such as ancient MacMillan, but Barbara has pulled if off, and in spades. A full technical description of how she achieved this (along with photos of the kilt) can be found on the "kiltmakers" forum elsewhere on this site.
There are only two things that I can add to this brief review. The first is my whole-hearted endorsement of Barbara Tewksbury as an absolutely first class kilt maker. The other is my personal "thank you" to Barbara for having made such a splendid kilt.

Congratulations
As the owner of two of Barb's kilts I have to agree with you on all points. I did see the photos in the Kiltmakers forum, I must say it is a lovely kilt. Perhaps you could join the Tewksbury Owners Club social group here.

Do they meet twice a year for formal dining? If so, I'll join. (Just kidding. ) I'll sign up.

Well we could, I wonder where we should meet? You do have a standing invitation to our Burns Supper, what would you like to recite?

MOR, you know the system here well enough. If there is no photo, it did not happen!

We need a "What, no pictures!?" smiley.
Congratulations on this rumored but unverified kilt.

Congratulations on the new kilt, and for choosing Barb Tewksbury as the kilt maker. Go easy on that third strap and buckle; you might stress the steeking.
It all sounds wonderful.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…
Yes, I have squirrels in my brain…
