The secret is to be at the showers when they open at 7 AM. I've camped on the mountain on the cheap for three years and always had a hot shower and was squeaky clean. Yes, they are camp showers but I wouldn't call them gross. Also you can eat a the vendor tents; breakfast, lunch and dinner. CAMP ON THE MOUNTAIN! Don't miss the evening marshmallow fight betweem the family campers and late curfew campers! The Ceilidhs in the evenings are superb.

I can't echo Mael's thoughts fast enough. Camp on the mountain. But get your application in now!

Last year the kids and I did the tent thing and showed up on the Thursday the games started. While I did have a reservation, I almost couldn't find a place to pitch the tent. This year, we're showing up the Monday before with a pop up camper from MWR. Can't wait. Make your reservations soon. Oh, and the Scotch tasting last year was the greatest. I haven't been able to drink a blended Scotch since.

Jimmy, the kids and I will be there to cheer you on. My son's favorite song is "What's Up Yours". (you guys were great at Rockahock this year, by the way)

Where are we going to meet this year?

Is there going to be an Xmarkers universal meet up spot this year?

It will be my first time there! Looking forward to enjoying the great games and meeting all the Xmarkers there.

A meeting place we can all meet at the Scottish tartan authority tent like we have done in years past. Usually ends up that we meet there around lunch then try to find carbomb somewhere down in one of the groves. So I hope to see quite a few of the fellow x-markers there and bring your cameras for the picture and if you can and want to bring your dandelions so we can spot each other out during the day.
    Thanks Zac

    Grandfather Mountain!!

    It's almost here!!!

Ok, who's going and who'll be at the Scottish Tartan Authority on Friday at noon?

I'm leaving Monday morning, so I'll be off the net after that.

Feel free to stop by the tent for a wee dram. We look forward to seeing as many Xmarkers as we can.

Albannach, Barleyjuice, whiskey tasting, BBQ, The Great Marshmallow War!! This is going to be soooo great!!!

What do you like about the Grandfather Mountain games?
