A Father's Day Quandry...
My wife asked me this afternoon if I had any ideas of what I wanted for Father's Day/ 17 year wedding anniversary (it's almost always a couple days apart). I responded that I wanted a sgian duhb. I had shown her a couple I liked. I really wanted a simple one with the clan crest on the handle. She asked if I wanted my clan (Gordon) or if she could get me one in her clan (McIntyre). I told her as long as it also came with a case of Guinness, I'd be a happy dad that day.
So, is there any hardfast rule about mixing my clans? Just curious....

At least you get a Guinness out of it.

I would be honored to wear a sgian dubh with my wife's crest.

I don't see why it would be a problem mixing clan attire like that. I say wear it proudly!
Congratulations on your anniversary.
I have always tempered my killing with respect for the game pursued. I see the animal not only as a target but as a living creature with more freedom than I will ever have. I take that life if I can, with regret as well as joy, and with the sure knowledge that nature's ways of fang and claw or exposure and starvation are a far crueler fate than I bestow. - Fred Bear

The Kilt Police say it is lawful to wear anything in your clan's tartan and accessories. So, unless you see the KP, wear what you want!

I agree.

By marrying her you've already mixed the clans. Wearing their crest can symbolize allegiance to their chief, but I doubt anyone would ever try to hold you to it.
