Go!! What's a wee bit o' rain? My living history has done numerous festivals in the rain. The one thing that I personally dislike about that is breaking down camp- wet canvas tents are heavy!
Oh, and save the Laphroag for a movie night in after the festival.

Amen. I remember being at a particularly rainy Civil War reenactment where the majority of our unit were trying to huddle under the Captain's fly in front of his tent. Finally, three of us decided it just wasn't worth it, and went and stood in the rain.
A tourist stopped, took our photo, and commented that we "looked authentic, because we looked miserable." I never worried about staying out of the rain again.

OMG, just go no matter what the weather. Like McMurdo said, wear wool, and have a good rain coat. You'll have fun. 'Cause if you don't go, you'll be kicking yourself for some time.

Well, the dump was annoying, but the damp before and after wasn't bad.

NW PA - that would be the one.

By the spelling and your location in Grand Island, I kind of thought maybe. Edinboro University is my undergraduate Alma Mater.

Does that make you a Fighting Scot Santa?
Edinboro was where I earned my Master's.

When I was there, they were the "Red Raiders". The Fighting Scots came after I had graduated with my Bachelors Degree. The Fighting Scots is certainly apprpriate since the signs entering Edinboro read, "Named for the city in Scotland" I don't know how the teams came to be called the Red Raiders with the indian image before and while I was there.

That's hilarious! Not that I would laugh at your misfortune... Luckily for us, we have a rather large tent that we call the Knotty Dirk Pub. Our whole group and several guests can fit in that monster. www.renscots.org
