Silk Formal Waistcoats?

This would be a black waistcoat, and I would have a black, satin silk, self tie, bow tie. I need to get a new bow tie.

I actually prefer the scoop front, four button waistcoats. I'm also trying to decide, as often discussed on the forum, whether the waistcoat would be "the formal waistcoat" for my whole closet, or to keep it separate or exclusive to the kilt attire.

In that case, I would opt for a black satin waistcoat. I have one of those as well - I like it better than a cumberbund and it gets more compliments.
