Hm. Well, you can lead a horse to water.. yadda... yadda... broken record... etc....etc...

In Japan there is a popular expression: Shou ga nai. It means: What can you do? (As in a: you can't fight city hall kind of feeling)

Hopefully Sean gets better soon. Best wishes and luck to him.

Unfortunately, it does look like much the same is going on as before. Obviously I have a bit of a biased view, but it is something I deal with frequently.

About once a week, I have people email me writing, "How come this item is $x.xx and yours is $x.xx! They're the same item!" I then tell the person that it's not the same item. Mine is what is pictured, while the other is a misrepresentation of a product with a false picture, but (understandably) who are they going to believe?

We talk about how some merchants dupe customers and that's a bad thing, but we also forget that it makes it difficult for legitimate businesses to operate. It lowers the level of trust all around. And we all suffer for it.

I looked at AllScottish.ca again and noticed that their doublet pictures are all taken from glengarryhats.com. If you visit glengarryhats.com, you will see a page that Ian has devoted to ferreting out those who have stolen the pictures he personally takes. It is possible that they come from the same Pakistani wholesaler, but regardless, the pictures of the products are Ian's.

Most of the glengarry and balmoral photos are also taken from Ian's site, while the others are taken from Robert Mackie of Scotland. I carry hats made by Robert Mackie and I can assure you that they are not available at those prices! Even wholesale!

So, buyer beware, I guess. As I said before, I do have a personal stake in such dishonesty because my livelihood is directly affected by it.
