It might be a lot easier (though not nearly as much fun) to simply bribe the nurses with a bottle of single malt.
Naw...lets all break Jock out (just like the Bold Buccleuch did with Kinmont Willie Armstrong at Carlisle Gaol) and drink the single malt ourselves.

I wish all of Will's caregivers and family the best the the world can offer.
Each week at church I have lit a candle of concern for Jock Scot's speedy and full recovery. I will continue to do so until he is fully back to his great health and happiness. I hope that we of Clan Xmarks can hope that both Jane and Annie will register themselves and feel welcome as part of the clan, as they truly are a part of the family. I welcome them with open keyboard, for the hard and tiring work that is involved with a family member in Hospital. My father was in that "Goal" for over six months, and it was very hard on my sister and I as his caregivers then as well as for the next year on his estate. I pray for all of the team Jock Scot UK great strength and good fortune.
Get well soon.

Annie,
What a wonderful story about our Jock! It put a smile on my face to see that he never lost that scintillating (if crotchety) spirit. Please give him our best, and let me second SteveB's invitation to you and Jane to join in your own rights!
Sending good wishes and healing thoughts to you all,
Diane

Oh No!

Jock,
Glad to have your input back on X Marks the Scot again!
I know you still have a ways to go but keep on getting better and keep on being your old curmudgeonly self!
Cheers

Very nice and inventive photo and set up. Congratulations.
And... er... for your personal collection and for Jock's future reflexion on the matter, here are a few more hats !

Well here I am, another week gone by and I am still here! Not the best of weeks for old Jock in truth, you know the thing, one step forward and then one step back. I suppose that is going to be the way for a while yet. Thank you for all your messages and I am delighted to see the picture of Jamie taking all those hats of his to, I assume, the bin.
I am trying to lull the guards into a false sense of well being at the moment, I did have a spot of bother with the Camp Commandant which seemed to cause a bit of a stir, but on the whole the escape plans a coming along well. All being well, the escape is planned for sometime during the second or third week of July, depending on the condition of the moon.
It looks as though Annie and I are moving house! I have never done that before! We are moving to a modern cottage, near the river, which has no draughts,no dust,no leaks, it has double glazing , central heating that works and only five bedrooms. My sons are taking over the business and are moving into the various houses dotted around the country and one of them is moving into our old house. I am delighted and I wish them well in whatever they decide to do in the future.
Jock.

Glad to hear you are on the mend and hope the escape plan works by mid-July. I will be thinking of you as I spend next week in pursuit of salmon on the Dee and hope it won't be too long before you are able to do the same. I was even thinking of getting one of those pith helmets in case the sun appears briefly. Not really - just taking the "pith".
