    Is It Just Me

    Hell-o all,

Over the past several months, I have been noticing a higher quality of threads. Is it just me noticing that?

... and with me posting less often these past few months. Hmmmmm, wait a minute...

Seriously though, I'm not sure if I've noticed any difference. I see times where things might get a bit heated here and there, but I don't know if I notice quality levels of posts themselves. I have read some very incredibly interesting and high quality posts since I've been on here and there usually seem to be a good batch of them that always pop up. Then again, I don't read all of the threads, so I probably don't get a good feel for it like that percentage-wise.

It's just awesome to learn new things -- even reading information I'd seen before but was brought up again. Good refresher!

i thnk some of the feeling that the threads are of higher quality my be artifactual for the f ollowing reason: Bad thread gets a few comments first couple days then dies a quiet death. Good thread gets a lot of comments, then continues to get brought up again and again, sometimes over years to live a longer and therefore more highly visible life through repeated referencing, or even (trumpets sound) receiving that highly coveted "sticky". Good threads have a highly visible and everlasting life, Bad threads are a flash in the pan.

So to answer your original question, "yeah, it's probably just you!"

    Glen,

We have a huge knowledge pool here and because of all the fine kilt makers and historians that have contributed to XMTS we are probably the most "In the Know" group concerning kilts (both Modern and Traditional) on the Internet if not the world!

Because of this our level of detail and information our conversations concerning the kilt are probably a bit more sophisticated than a few years ago.

I also think that as a group we have matured and look at XMTS as a place where we put our best foot forward.

Of course if you factor in Grant's contributions then all bets are off...

    Cheers

Rare opportunity here to quote one's self in a thread, but I can't help but realize that most of the threads I have started have had fairly short lifespans. Hmmmmmmm. Not sure what to make of that.
