A note from your friendly neighborhood Moderator

    Hi All,

There are two rather interesting subjects going on in this thread

One about the dichotomy between the talent of a musical performer and the image they portray

The other is how each generation perceives the music and performers they grew up with compared to next generation's.

However XMTS is a polite and family friendly forum. I do not think that our lady members would be all that keen on terms like "chesticles" or "floatation devices" objectifying their bodies used here.

This XMTS not a locker room so lets try and keep that in mind when posting.

    Cheers

Knebworth happened a year before I was even born, but I did get to watch the DVD of it that was released several years ago... There were enough ladies displaying their wares in the audience to keep folks entertained from what I can tell, but definitely none onstage. haha! I agree though... Even as a youngster, I can't stand half the new stuff that's out there. Too much flash, not enough smash and substance. Give me old-school any day.

Is their undoubtable musical talent insufficient to attract a discerning audience. I may have been on a higher plain at the time but it wasn't like this in 1979 when I was watching Zeppelin at Knebworth. (Crikey... I sound like my Dad!)
