    Ok guys, I must say I am very disappointed in ya'll, we have five pages and not ONE! of you has mentioned the fact that fur sporrans, real or faux, have a tendency to be absently petted by the other half of the species! SHAME ON YOU !

    Wouldn't it be great if all the various species of "activists" out there would practice the fine art of minding their own damn' business...?

    Not just the other half. Everyone likes my furry sporran. Its so soft.

    I've often joked to my girlfriend about turning our cat into a sporran when he dies.

    Why is your FB sporran made from horse meat?

    Nobody deserves paint thrown on them. At minimum that is assault. if one has a problem with another's dress then, even though extremely impolite, they could vocalize it. I have no sympathy for these organizations that do such things as wantonly commit assault, and other crimes up to and including terrorism in it's strictest sense.

    Then again not many have the stones to mess with a guy in a kilt, a middle-aged women in a mink coat is a much easier and safer target.

    Question

    I've never and don't plan to worry about wearing my rabbit sporran, if fact before reading this thread, it never crossed my mind! And I have not changed my mind about wanting a full mask skunk sporran at some point.

    I have 2 queries for Heilanner, since he feels so strongly;

    First, You seem to base your dislike of fur and faced sporrans on ethical rather than fashion grounds, but you say other leather sporrans are OK. I fail to see the ethical difference between "plain leather", assumed to be cow, but usually of unknown origin, and whatever fur sporrans you might see. They are all animal hides. If you think the furry ones are ugly, that's cool, but don't call anybody out for abusing animals if you are wearing any leather kit at all, including brogues and belts.

    Second, What's with not capitalizing "I" as the first-person singular pronoun?

    That's why you don't see PETA at biker rallies!

    I say to each their own... If you have an issue wearing a fur sporran, don't wear one.. If another has no problem wearing one, it's their issue. What makes me laugh though, is everyone pushing the idea, that we should think and act the same... We are all different, with different perspectives.. That's what makes the world go round.. Now.. If someone damages property of another because it's not going with anothers principles.. That's criminal.. Plain and simple.. Reguardless what point of view they have.. It's ok to have different views and to discuss them in a mature manner.. Because that is how we all grow... And if we don't, we can agree to disagree and still respect each other.

    I'm so glad it was you who mentioned it.

    Anyway, unless you are a celebrity who's likely to get mentioned in the press for having gotten splashed with something, I think it's highly unlikely that you'd be considered a target.

    That's why sheep are not shorn in the winter when it's cold, but when the cold weather ends... But if you want to press a point.. Why not omit the pertenant facts... LOL.
