Hiwassee Train Excursion
Today we went on the Hiwassee Rail adventures excursion which is done by the Tennessee railroad Museum-
http://www.tvrail.com/hiwassee/index.php
The trip is a bit more than four hours there and back, running from Etowah Tenn. to Copperhill. There's also a two hour layover spent in Copperhill for shopping, eating etc. All in all, a six hour trip. Along the way the railroad makes a 360 degree loop around Bald mtn before crossing itself
Crossing the Hiwasse River at Reliance
Appalacha power house. Water runs 8 miles down stream through a tunnel from the Appalache Dam to here
Going under the trestle where the track crosses itself
Looking down at the track and river from atop the loop
I'll post more pics later. Rain in Copperhill and on the return trip limited photo ops.

Copperhill is a cool little town, Makaysville, and Blue Ridge are all nice, especially during the fall.
We are practically neighbors if you reside in Chatsworth, I live in Ft. O.
Cool pics of a cool trip.
