Alikws is Abenaki [northeast woodlands "red indian"] for ant. Ants find things, are always around and watching although largely unnoticed, absolutely loyal to their tribe, and live between two worlds. Not bad medicine to have.

Bruce Scott: my real name. The avatar is the Scott (Red) tartan. Hardly applicable to a riding clan of the Borders it first appeared in the Sobieski Stuart's 'Vestiarium Scoticum' of 1842, which lends no historical credence at all.

Well then, ahem. I am an Eagle Scout, and my initials are JCS, hence my handle.

My user name comes from my participation in a Renaissance re-enactment guild that re-creates the Royal Court of Mary, Queen of Scots in 1562 and my character is a Lancer or a foot solidier in her military. Soooo....Lancer 1562.

I'll throw down on this one. I spent a lot of time at motorcycle rallies. Yes there was alcohol involved. My buddy's would ask where I was and another one would say "He's MIA again". In my defence, I was usually either checking out bikes or skirts. Hence the Missin.
Avatar is the County Mayo tartan.

    I'll chime in, too.

I'm an alum of The University of Kansas and a huge fan of Kansas Basketball. KU's arena is Allen Field House, named after legendary coach Dr. Forrest C. "Phog" Allen. He got the nickname "Phog" because when he umpired kids' baseball games in high school, people said his ball and strike calls sounded like a foghorn. No one really seems to know why it's spelled with a "Ph." He was the driving force behind the creation of the NCAA basketball tournament, and he was also the catalyst behind getting basketball admitted as an Olympic sport.

And I graduated from KU in 1986.

My avatar is our most valiant prince, king and lord, King Robert I.

My name was given to me by my daughters when they were young. To them I was Bigdad. When I tried to use that on line I always had to add a number to it as a password so I ended up with this. My daughters are grown now so I'm no longer their Bigdad but in my memory that remains. The avatar is a AG&E kilt pin my lovely lady Sydnie bought for me. It reflects my service back in the dim and distant past.
