Tell me they didn't hand out rental gear to people without individual rental agreements! I can see how they might have thought they were the party favors, the way they handed them out.

    Regards,
    Rex.

I like to think of myself as an honest person, but is somebody gave me a kilt and sporran to wear, I know I'd definitely have a tough time handing it back!

Well, at least it proves that to wear a kilt is to like a kilt. I'll bet someone's losing their job over this.

And yet, to look on the bright side, it seems the vast majority were properly returned...the kilt mysteriously has moral properties in addition to all the others...
"Before two notes of the theme were played, Colin knew it was Patrick Mor MacCrimmon's 'Lament for the Children'...Sad seven times--ah, Patrick MacCrimmon of the seven dead sons....'It's a hard tune, that', said old Angus. Hard on the piper; hard on them all; hard on the world." Butcher's Broom, by Neil Gunn, 1994 Walker & Co, NY, p. 397-8.

Great story, I wonder how many of the participants thought the kilt and sporran were for keeps along with the hose.

The way the article is worded makes me wonder if the participants knew these were rented outfits to be returned.
