    My one concern would be how heavy it is, in my experience fabric like this is best suited for other projects, but is too light for kilts, your mileage may vary of course.

    Yes, it is not 16oz wool but it feels about the same weight as my USA PV kilt. I have not gotten home to check so I'm not positive. However, a light weight PV kilt in family tartan is better then not having a kilt in a family tartan.
