    Of the two, I think that I prefer the second one. Wine and spirits are a little closer than the stars.

    Celestron is a pretty good brand of telescope.

    I have a small 70 mm short barrelled refractor by Meade and it is great for observing the moon and planets (I've even discerned the M 42 with it)

    In pursuit of your new hobby, try taking that to the wetland sometime for spotting shorebirds and waterfowl. I've used a similar one and it worked great.
