Here's the thing, there we were enjoying some well deserved family time my ten year old son walking down the boardwalk next to me,instead of running ahead,(with mom and grandmother) He recently told me that he would like to have his own kilt. There were the usual people pointing, and wispering, those laughing and the second looks, when a woman walks by and says loud "If you're going to be Gay you might as well be proud of it!' my son looked at me and i thld him "there is no cure for stupid, and in this world there are a lot of people like that." As we walked down the boardwalk in the lights and sounds, and looking in the shops a guy sitting on the rail next to the beach yells at the top of his lungs 'Look were being invaded by Canadians!!!" BREATHE......slightly adjust my neck side to side smile and keep walking.Pizza,Italian ice not for that day. After getting back to the room I sat out on the deck with a Guiness ,and a few tunes on the chanter. I told my son there are good and bad folks wherever you go, its the laughs that make memories. I hope to get him his kilt, and take him to bethlehem PA. for the Celtic fling, and next year kilted kite flying at the same beach!!
