Well, we left the Bay of Fundy on a dark and stormy night,

With Capt. Morgan at the wheel, the crew was full of fright.

The hold was full of salted cod, we were Barbados bound.

We looked on high and said our prayers, "Don't let us run aground."

The wind, it howled, the rain it stung as it thrashed us 'bout the ears,

The bosun said "A storm like this comes once in 20 years."

The cook poured out our rations, he said t'would keep us warm,

"Tis just a dram of Nelson's blood, t'wont do you any harm."

Come sunrise, the skies were clear, a good wind at our back,

The porpoises were silver grey, all the seals were black.

We made our port in Barbados and off-loaded our fish

And loaded up with Newfie Screech as was the owners wish.

I'm now back home where all is well, in fact a bit ho hum.

So shut yer gob ye landlubber and pass me o'er the rum.
