Why couldnt a male kilt be as good a bargain as this

There have been cases of men buying women's kilts by mistake on Ebay after the seller misidentified the item as a male garment. CatDad and I got into a bidding war on a Maple Leaf tartan kilt a few months ago. CatDad won, but ending up getting a lady's kilt in the mail. It was an incident of great amusement.

haha. Quite a lot of people mistake even the most obviously female skirts for men's kilts!

There's been quite a few bargain kilts sold on ebay - some of them for £15 or so and in good condition. Some people are very poor at listing items too with wrong categories and spelling mistakes... I normally pick up those deals!

lol good point i never thought of that .....well someone`s possible mistake has resulted in a great buy for my misses, i regular look up my surname on ebay in the off chance of a bargain and today proves its worth doing even though my misses is Irish its makes me proud she`d wear my tartan and want to carry on with the ulster scots traditions too

i said to her if she`d like me to bid on it the other day i didnt want to win the item for her not to wear it and she was like
"duh yeah of course i want it"
if she doesnt feel comfortable in it i`ll just give it to my sister

There are even some people who "convert" ladies kilts by changing them to fasten on the men's side and then sell them on eBay. They are usually up front about this, but usually the end result is too long, as most of them start out with "kilted skirts" that would be calf length on a woman, and they are generally fashion tartans.

Thankfully it ended happily for me. I sent it back to the seller and she promptly refunded my money. I was only out the amount paid to ship it back. I have since bought another kilt on ebay, but since the seller was our own Gilmore, I knew I could trust that it wouldn't be mis-identified and my trust was rewarded with a great looking Flower of Scottland wool kilt!

I'm not sure what to think when I see kilts that are listed in both men's & women's sections. Or even when there's both in the title.
