Pink Gin is best (most traditional, at any rate) made with Plymouth Gin... which isn't a traditional London-style gin at all, though I don't remember what style it is! It's also great on the rocks.

I really like G & T, but only really like Schweppes Tonic, at least compared to that stuff from the multi-button dispensor at the bar -- heaven only knows what brand that is!

Martini: Tanquary Mallaca, if available, plain Tanquarey otherwise... Shaken, no vermouth, olive or a twist. Or, my fav is a Mother Superior. Gin (Tanqueray, of course), shaken, garnish is two miniature prunes. (Thank you, Spider Robinson!)

--> On garnish: I like olives, but really like the anchovy stuffed ones... Bleu cheese is also good!

Gin and It is a nice summer treat, too... Gin and Italian vermouth. Like it with Cianziano Rosso (hope that's spelled properly).

Brian, There's nothing wrong with Compari and soda. I've not tried it with tonic.
