Downtown Kilt Night with Sir William
Well tonight we went to the Elephant and Castle in downtown to meet up with Sir William, we did hoist a wee drink to Jock Scott and then got down to talking kilts and other things, it was a good night and I felt I came away from it with a new friend. When we got home we saw this young man in the parking lot wearing of all things a kilt, I just had to get his photo and tell him about XMarks hopefully he'll stop by. Here are the photos

Once we got home we ran into this young man, there is hope if he is any example.

All in all it was a great night to be out and about, it was wonderful to meet you Sir William, and I look forward to Monday.

Well he is wearing Thor’s hammer and a decent tartan, not sure about the length etc.. I am sure you steered him in the right direction.

Aye it maybe a bit long, but I really think that was the way it moved on him, it was also from Hector Russell, a good quality kilt.

As it is 0600hrs here as I type, I raise my new super large mug of Ceylon tea in reply!I was sorry to miss Sir William when he was over here just a few weeks ago, but that is the way life goes. I wonder how he got on at the museum at Fort William? Anyway, it is great to see you all with smiling faces.

It is too low for my tastes as well, however I did not even notice when talking to him, of course it was dark out. I think mainly this is the way the younger generation is doing things partly because they do not know where a kilt is supposed to lie and partly because they are used to wearing their pants so low. That is my best guess, but to me and to him the important thing was to find another kiltie. I hope he comes by here and at least learns the traditional way of wearing a kilt. If he does not choose to wear it the way I do but is happy with his choice well who am I tell him any different, freedom of choice goes a long way right?
