I do prefer a wool tie when wearing a kilt, originally I listed wool as one choice but was not certain about a striped tie in wool.

I can't say I've ever seen a regimental/old school/club tie in wool. Silk is the "authentic" option.

I would be interested in a silk Xmarks tie.

Some years ago Land's End used to sell several regimental striped ties in wool. The few I remember are the Royal Navy, Royal Marines, and Brigade of Guards. But, as someone pointed out, the stripes aren't as crisp as with silk.

I would be interested in a silk tie. would give me a nice option for the days at work when kilts are out of the question. Working security the kilt is out of the question if I ever have to restrain someone.
