Must be terror all those big Glaswegian girls (I have been there far to many times and they average out as about a size UK 14/16 or US 16/18). With that loud gruff voice they use, which is barely understandable apart from the swearing. Glasgow girls actually shout when whispering they are that loud. Now Edinburgh and Inverness have far nicer ladies IMO far easier on the eye and ear.

Any one who finds those weegie gals Admirable must come from a place where the girls are really really fugly IMO.

Win lose or draw, Glasgow will be covered in kilts this Wednesday night but like any city worldwide there are danger places particularly near the city centre later in the evening. In saying this Glasgow is no worse than most cities anywhere but just be careful

i always thought the central belt lassies always looked alright and you must remember half the "weegie" lassies are in actual fact lassies from up north that have to come here for college and uni at this time of year ...seems like you've got a dislike of anything south

To be fair That is not true about anti South I like many parts like Edinburgh. Its just a fact the girls in Glasgow are rough. & very large. That is not being anti anything just a fact. I have been there many (to many) times and have always found that this is the case.

Now I do not see you contradicting the size or volume issues I raised so I assume you agree. Therefore stop trying to insinuate I have a problem with lowlanders as that is patently wrong.

i apologize if i seemed somewhat harsh but i took offense to what you said about the women in this neck of the woods ,some of those "rough" women happen to be mother sisters aunts and grandmothers of myself and other members on this board that happen to live in this part of scotland

As it is, the closest I'm gonna get to the match is listening to it on BBC Radio Scotland via the internet, kick off 19.30 hrs, as my local pub will be showing the England v Croatia game!

Even so, I'll be sat in my armchair, kilt on, dram in hand.

I do hope you wear a 5 yarder for this I find a 8 yarder uncomfortable for long seated sessions indoors. Although for show I prefer the 8 yarder it does have its draw backs when seated for a long period.

I personally wont bother with either match both teams are not in it to win it. As far as I can tell they both just want to get a few levels higher up the ladder to feel they tried before going out.

Sure, the chances of Scotland qualifying for the World Cup, let alone winning it, are small. However, I'd still like us to get there and be drawn in the same group as, say, Brazil (as usual) or, preferably, England.

Sometimes it's the occasion that counts as much as the hoped for success. If I didn't get involved in things just because I thought I, or those I'm supporting, wouldn't win, well, life'd be pretty restrictive and dull, I feel.

That's why, for example, I support my youngest son in playing his rugby, though his team haven't even scored a try for three seasons! But, the lads love the chance to get together, even if they're slow, overweight or just not the brightest bulb in the box. It keeps them fit and part of their peers' world, otherwise many of them would be isolated.

So, sure enough, it's kilt on time tomorrow for me and, hopefully, the visitor to our islands who started the thread!

I would much rather come and support a team such as the one that your son plays for. I am afraid that all this hyped up razz-ma-tazz of watching over paid prima donnas in some jingoistic pantomime does nothing for me whatsoever. Still, each to their own and yes, there will be a huge number of kilts out and about for our visitor to enjoy.
