    Two things, McMurdo:

    1) As have 99% of us married guys, you, too, have outkicked your coverage.

    and...

    2) You have tremendous hair, sir.
Why, a child of five could understand this. Quick -- someone fetch me a child of five!

I apparently didn't get my wedding pics in this thread. Mine are at:

    http://www.chrisnjim.com/weddingphotos/index.html

I made the kilts for both grooms, best men and ring boys. My husband made the ties. We couldn't afford sporrans for everyone so we didn't do them. I kinda of wished I had found the money for four more. If we got married today I'd have almost enough to just supply everyone from my own supplies.

    Cheers
    Chris

Great pics everyone... interesting churches also!
Did anyone other than McMurdo not wear white hose to their wedding?
It is in truth not for glory, nor riches, nor honours that we are fighting, but for freedom -- for that alone, which no honest man gives up but with life itself.

Thanks but I thought Catherine's hair was so much better

I never noticed that before, but my wife dislikes white hose almost as much as I do, so for me white was never an option.

    Congrats...

    A handsome looking tartan, too.

The orientation of grooms and celebrant seemed unconventional (at least to this auld school Episcopalian) but very effective? I'm curious if that is the tradition in that particular church, or of your own device? It did remind me a little of when priests used to say the entire mass facing the altar- and with their back to the congregation (and likely all in latin to boot). Not that I've ever experienced that personally, but being a student of medieval history and all...

    Cheers again!

I have never worn white, or, cream hose, whilst kilted, never mind my kilted wedding!

    For the Record?

Apparently I've not followed the "white" hose debate closely enough... I've assumed everyone is talking about the common "cream" hose that are standard issue with most rentals etc, but then somewhere is mentioned the pure white "piper's" hose? Is there a differentiation being made between these two, or which one is referred to by "white hose." Or do I really want to come into the light?

At any rate... I happen to like the cream hose as it is a neutral that often works well with my outfits. And usually the only reason they trump my lovat green hose is they are slightly cooler for South Georgia (more acrylic, less wool). I also think they look rather nice for more formal evening occasions. If I'd known better, I'd started with lovat hose- they are the bomb and the best day wear hose by far! For my wedding though I wore my Argylls. My best man wore bottle green hose, but the new father and brother-in-law had the "cream" hose...
