So I decided to order a kilt and give it a try. My family is Ok with it and so is everybody I have met.
You'll find that's generally true.

Hello and a warm Celtic from Boston, Massachusetts, U.S.A.
You have not identified your province, or other identifier of location to help us handle your request for the cooler season. A wool kilt is generally pretty toasty to - 40 F. I have been out in these temps, in upper Saskatchewan, kilted, without a problem.

Welcome, from Cincinnati. I find that wool socks are enough to keep me warm.
