    Which Hand?

Just had some thoughts, figured I'd set a poll to see if there is a relation to kilt wearing by handedness.

Better to be ambidextrous than ambisexual I suppose.

I'm ambidextrous on a computer because my dad is sinister and when I was growing up, I learned to use a mouse with my left hand and type with my right because that's the way my dad had the computer set up.

I think of myself as ambidexterous, but am right hand dominant.

Are the heraldic terms dexter and sinister politically incorrect?

    Right Brain vs. Left Brain:

This theory of the structure and functions of the mind suggests that the two different sides of the brain control two different “modes” of thinking.
It also suggests that each of us prefers one mode over the other.

Experimentation has shown that the two different sides, or hemispheres, of the brain are responsible for different manners of thinking.

    Left Brain (Right hand):
    • Logical
    • Sequential
    • Rational
    • Analytical
    • Objective
    • Looks at parts

    Right Brain (Left hand):
    • Random
    • Intuitive
    • Holistic
    • Synthesizing
    • Subjective
    • Looks at wholes

I was thinking about things the other day, at the kilt night back in May, there were 6 people, at least 2 with pro level cameras, I think it was 3 iPhones, at least 3 that had some interest in Geo-caching, 2 worked for the same company at some point, etc.

I figured start with an 'easy' question. Most places cite the incidence of being left handed at 7~14%, right now it is over 20%, more if you count the ambidextrous. In fact, if you count them, and 'assume' that it is a fair slice of kilt wearers, you might suggest, based on the data so far, that there is an unusually high number of lefties wearing kilts. (Granted, it's how you look at the data, the same data can say all kinds of things, even contradict itself. I love stats some times.)

I write with my left hand and have a tendency to use it in many situations yet use scissors with my right and am ambidextrous with a keyboard.
