It was the 20th Anniversary of the Welsh Society’s Festival in Fredericksburg, VA. They do an excellent job each year. Today’s rain that not deter the crowds from showing up. As there are only three Welsh Festivals in the US the draw for this is large.

If you haven’t had a Infamous Welsh cookie you have really missed out. David here is wearing his Welsh St. David National tartan kilt. David says he wears a kilt 80% of the time. This one is about 40 years old! His son is a full time kilt wearer. Dean mans the Fredericksburg Scottish Society tent

The festival has outstanding entertainment. This is the group IONA from Washington, DC. Fredericksburg’s own Celtic music group Moch Pryderi is a real crowd pleaser. The piper Bob is also wearing the St. David National tartan kilt. I had a good talk with Ken who was the forth kitlie there. He is wearing his Ellis of Wales tartan kilt. He may also be a possible new XMarker. I’m wearing my Buzz Kidder kaki canvas kilt. Tonight, I’ll be working at Walmart and so far this kilt has passed muster as being acceptable to the ‘dress’ code. A late toast to Arthur Guinness is better than no toast and a perfect way to end my visit to Welsh Festival!

Great pictures... looks like everyone had a great time!... though.. I was looking for another touch of Wales, in the pictures...LOL.. I was hoping to spy a kilt worn with some Chuck Taylors.. our Derek..LOL Thank for sharing with us..
