My first highland event
I finally had the opportunity to attend my first Highland event, Clanjamfrey in Memphis, TN. I had no idea what I had been missing! The booths were informative, the vendors extremely unique, the food.... It was an inspiring experience. I wore my phillabeg (Crawford modern, of course), black Jacobite shirt, and black hose.
Clan Crawford was not represented, but I did get to hang out with our cousins, Clan Wallace, and even helped a little with their tent.
I didn't manage to get any pictures of myself, but here are the pictures and all that I took with my iPhone! Next time I'll try to remember to carry one of our digital cameras so you can see better pictures.
I was about 2 hours early, so I got to "help" with setting up some of the clan tents!
I was trying to get a photo of the clan tents, not the young man on the right making his adjustment.
Another shot of the clan tents. The guy with Clan Maxwell stepped in just before I took the shot!
Mostly shot for Clan Wallace. I had the pleasure of hanging out with them and learning much about Clan Wallace and my own Clan Crawford!
This is a picture of the official pipe band of Clanjamfry. I cannot remember the band's actual name. They were my second favorite part of the festival!
Here is a link to the video I took of the parade at the beginning of the opening ceremony.

I didn't knowingly meet any Xmarkers there.
Guys, sorry for the size of these pics. I uploaded them directly to photobucket from my iPhone and have no idea how to adjust the size.

Glad you had a good time. Meeting up with Xmarkers is easier if you post the event here first, then you can find others who are thinking of going and set a meetup place.

First welcome me new friend, no need to apologize for the pictures, thank you for sharing them. I'm glad you could get them with your phone. I've run down batteries in two cameras and ended up using my phone as a last resort so I know where your coming from. You did get some good pictures! Again thanks for sharing them!

I did have a great time! There were no gomes though, that I found anyway (except some children's games), but I will have a chance to enjoy games later. I was truely more interested in history, which is what originally brought me to buy a kilt.
As for the pictures, they appeared huge when I first posted the thread. Now they look normal. Think I may edit the post again and add some captions. BTW- did anyone check out the video I loaded to YouTube?

I did indeed check out the vid. However, at this time, I lost my sound. I checked the floor, behind the couch, under the fridge, almost everywhere. Good vid.
