8 Yard Balmoral has arrived!! (Impressed)
Greetings all..
So the day has come.... (actually it came two days ago but I never took the time to write, i was busy kilting), my Balmoral 8 yard in Wilson Modern (Lochcarron strome) has arrived!
Frankly, as painful as it was to wait that long, Scotweb did a really good job. As I understand, the fabric itself had to be commisioned because Lochcarron didn't have any, so the fact they can have the weave done and still have the kilt made in 7 weeks is pretty outstanding. I didn't get my whole older because the kilt was time senstive so I had asked them (by phone) vif there was anything we could do and they were more than happy to send what they had right away and send the rest once everything else arrived, I was very happy with their flexibility. Fortunately I was able to get a sporran from my local kiltshop, the only essential peice of the outfit I was missing.
So onto the kilt itself. Honestly I am impressed. This is my first kilt but just to take the time to look it over, it is a quality peice of worksmanship, everything is straight, finished nicely. I am really pleased with the tartan itself, nice to finally see it in person, really quite nice. The fit is good, the swish is excellent ;)
So, having ended the first major chapter in my kilting experience, i am satisfied. I do recommend scotweb, as a website like their's, there might be a perception that their kilts are more "mass produced", and while they may or may not be true, the result is still very impressive.
Don't be afraid!

I do like it indeed, and the tartan is a grand one!
I don't believe the idea is to arrive in heaven in a well preserved body! But to slide in side ways,Kilt A' Fly'n! Scream'en "Mon Wha A Ride" Kilted Santas

Congratulations! Seven weeks is a short Jones. Order a Newsome box pleat and change the weeks to months. Ah, but worth the wait. Glad to hear of the outstanding customer service of Scotweb.

If you only had to wait 7 wks, consider yourself lucky! Even with not having to weave-on-demand that's a good turn around Congrats, that's a great looking tartan. Keep on kilting!
