    Teviotdale 8-yard Arrived Today

Got an unexpected 'phone call from the local kilt shop this morning to say that my new Teviotdale was ready, so I've been down to collect it. Unexpected as I thought I'd have to wait another two or three weeks.
I only ordered this kilt on 11th December, as reported here:
    http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/s...ght=teviotdale
The fabric was woven by Lochcarron, and the kilt was built by a lady kilt maker under contract to Tyneside Tartans of Haddington and Hawick. It is 8 yards, 13 oz.

Here is a view of the pleats

The weather is very wet and windy outside today but I couldn't wait to try it on and my neighbour came over to my conservatory to take these two shots.

Being conditioned to 24" length off the peg casual kilts which I wear most days, I feel that my dressy kilts with their 23" length leave a cold gap at the knees in winter. So when getting measured for this kilt, I agreed with the tailor to split the difference and go for a 23.5 inch length this time.

That's a very nice kilt. LIke McMurdo said, the quality really shows through in the pleats.

That's a new tartan to me, as well, but it looks tremendous. I'm sure you'l enjoy it for years to come.
