My first international kilted presentation (lecture) to our international professional society was given at the EICC about 18 months ago---until now I never knew they had their own tartan. I should consider getting it for pure remembrance sake for the event, but unfortunatley am not particularly fond of the color scheme. I will keep it on the pile to visualize regulalry and see if it grows on me.
The others are all beautiful tartans, althoguh there is little connection for me to any of them (loose MacDonald connection in my family maybe links me to Culloden and Jacobite but this is tenuous, and anybody can wear the National Milenium I guess). As stated I already have a Caledonia Ancient on order in kingussie, as I love the color palette and pattern.

I'm amazed that the Edinburg International Conference Center EICC didn't get any vote.
A few years back this tartan would have won first place. Back then most XMarkers were into subdued, faded, understated, earthy tartans...
Are we entering a new era ?
Best,
Robert

I've definitely gained a better appreciation for wearing colors over the last few years on this site. Like you said, when I first started wearing kilts I was basically only interested in either very dark or very earth toned tartans. Maybe it's just because I've become more comfortable wearing a kilt and less self concious. However, I chose the muted Colloden tartan as much for it's historic significance as for it's aesthetics.

No 4 - Edinburg International Conference Center - and why - because it is the best.

I have a kilt in National Millenial and really like it, but I like #4 as well. Please post photos when she finishes. I've only seen museum versions of the Kingussie.
