Normally I don't like much in the way of yellow (sorry, MacLeods!), but the EICC strikes me very nicely.

We had a “work meeting” yesterday evening and we tried out many things.
It seems that Lady Chrystel’s modern version of the Kingussie should be different of any version already existing, modern or old.
The central box pleat will be quite small; the knife pleats deep and numerous.
Of course this will depend on the sett size and structure
We would be closer to 7 yards of fabric than 5…
13oz to 16 oz would be ideal.
The pleats of a Reversed Kingussie should be very similar to a tank and bring us to 8 yards…
All of this is very exciting. Stay tuned !
Best,
Robert

I am most partial to the Culloden Muted and the Caledonian New Old Colours. I would love to have a Kingussie in either of those tartans.
The spirit of the Declaration of Arbroath (6 April 1320) abides today, defiantly resisting any tyranny that would disarm, disperse and despoil proud people of just morals, determined to keep the means of protecting their families and way of life close at hand.

I'll take my kilt in the Caledonian New Old Colours, please. I like the Limerick County tartan best, though.

Thinking about it from a pleating standpoint, I think the Culloden Muted might look the best.
Are these to be Reverse K's or true K's? You've mentioned both styles. RevK is pretty common, it's true K that is seldom seen outside the museum.

Lady Chrystel is really looking forward to making true Kingussie Kilts.
Though, as I mentioned in a previous post, they will be quite different from what we see in the museums.
Smaller back box pleat, deeper knife pleats…and lots of them.
Best,
Robert

I, too, like Phil, am partial to the Irish County tartans. In fact I have two kilts made and fabric for two more. I also find the Irish tartans fabric to be better woven—perhaps because it is woven by only one mill.
