Just wait until you get around to making standing ruffs. You'll wish you were back to making kilts.

Not happening! LOL...
I might...MIGHT, MAYBE make a simple leather jerkin from this pattern as well, after I'm done with the doublet. We shall see.
What I REALLY want to make is one of these:

Let me know when you are done, I'll be your crew!
Alan, you have too many irons in the fire...of course, it is better than none.

Well, the kiltmaking iron is coming out of the fire. I finished the Hall box-pleat. I don't know what the status is on My MacNaughton, Ancient, I assume that it's still getting made, but the maker seems to not be answering PM's. Then there's Bethany's black-and-flames box-pleat kilt, and finally the Dutch MacKay 8 yard for Piper George. And then, it's over. Done, finis. I even gave away some inexpensive tartan and sold the X Marks PV. Enough. Time to do something else.

Should have saved the X Marks PV.
It would have made some nice sails (visually but not necessarily functional).

something even differenter
Pardon this newcomer for highjacking the thread. I have been a-lurking for months and now must ask a question. I am considering an attempt at converting a sportcoat not into a day coat or argyle, but into a PC. I have checked and the length of the sportcoat's skirts is greater than the length of a PC. Of course there are no curvy seams. However I wonder if anyone has considered hacking up a jacket to this extent. I have a nice Pendleton BW jacket and thought it might yield a distinctive coatee.
Many Thanks and hello to all
