Despite the cold, and a bone-jarring 250 mile round trip in the Morgan, Sunday turned out to be a very pleasant day at the Games, made all the more enjoyable by the chance to meet up and chat with fellow X Markers. Mud was everywhere, and Mael Coluim was the only one clever enough to wear his wellies.

I thought I had a pair of gore-tex hiking boots in the car, but I'd forgotten that I'd taken them out a few days before. But the wellies would have been a better choice anyhow.
