    anyone heard Mac Talla Mor?

I had the great pleasure to hear Mac Talla Mor this past weekend here in Central Massachusetts. I bought all four of their albums. They are really great and young so they may be around for years. Their principal vocalist has a great voice. Two pipers of very high quality. They do a variety of original work and some really nice arrangements of things from Sky Pilot to Danny Boy. Do yourself a favor and check them out!

    Certainly new to me.

    Fun discovery; probably fantastic live.

There are some samples on their site: http://www.mactalla.com/home.html

I was intrigued by their treatment of Mark Saul's "Hellbound Train". I thought it started off promising, but didn't really fulfill its potential.

I too have seen them perform several times in the NYC area over the past couple of years. I really like their sound and their dedication. Plus, it's entirely a family operation, three brothers, sister (the vocalist) and even including Mom (who does the Celtic drum) and Dad (behind the scenes).

Oh, and Grandma sells the CD's!

First saw them two years ago at Flora Macdonald Games. Oldest piper played 45 minutes, came off the stage, put on a waistcoat and hat and went around the corner and won the pibroch competition.

    Great talent all of them.

Also saw them at Grandfather several years ago, and I think that same Flora MacDonald Games. Very talented indeed, have at least one of their CD's.
