I agree, Rex, a shotgun goes with just about anything- and tends to improve others' opinions of your outfit, too. In fact, Chicago's own John Dillinger had a phrase for it:
You can get more with a kind word and a gun than with a kind word alone.

I don't think I could get away with that...the paisley anyways...I don't have that much...Panache! I like the Claret suggestion..in either a solid or with a small sized print...the paisley would be overkill on the eyes...but I'm just an average guy...never trust a guy for fashion advice!!!!
Anyways...wanted to say that I find that combo smashing! Go for it.

Very good, with the tweedy country look the more patterns the better.
Tattersall shirts are very in this year. I saw several at the mall the other day so buy them up when they go on sale in the spring. The only problem with the ones in the US is they are button down collar. The ones I have purchased from the UK have a Jermyn Street spread collar.
I have a good picture to post to this thread but I will have to do it later.

There is also the "regimetal", "club", "university", "old school" style of tie to consider too. Very traditional in the UK and very traditional with the kilt.

At least once in his life, every man needs to ask himself, "Am I a paisley kind of guy?"

Real men wear paisley -- and mix patterns! Try telling the gents with the shotgun otherwise.

I'd like to see that combination with a weathered/muted tartan kilt, a pair of oatmeal/tan hose, and some sort of brown lace-up shoes. :

When given a choice, most people will choose.
