Here's another WalMart story:
A guy used to take bagpipe lessons from me. This guy had a huge white beard and at Christmas time was what I think they call a "real beard Santa". They have their own organisation- the Society of Real Beard Santas or some such. However this guy was a small slim guy who had to wear padding to be Santa.
Anyhow he was getting started on the pipes and was dismayed at the expense of kilts. (This was back before "casual kilts" etc were around.)
So one day he's shopping at WalMart and spies, in the womens' clothing section, nicely made kilts exactly like a traditional mens' kilt, complete with three buckles, made of nice wool in genuine tartans etc. They only cost $40 or something.
So our fellow starts trying on these "kilts" and finds one that fits perfectly and buys it.
At the dinner table that night his wife, a regional manager for WalMart, says "I got a strange call from one of my store managers today. She said a guy that looks like Santa Claus went into the women's section, started trying on dresses, and bought one!"
"Honey, that was ME..." our fellow admitted.
