Our only family heirloom is my great-grandfather's gold watch with chain. It's incribed inside from 1894 with references to his works in "religion, temperance and agriculture"! He was factor of the Farraline estate in Stratherrick until he died in 1915.
My eldest son will get it from me when he's 21 next July.
Now all I have to do is think of heirlooms for my two daughters (both 18) and youngest son?!

I always wear a pocket watch with this kind of chain:

which once belonged to my great-great-grandfather.
