Halloween is a money maker. That's why it's bigger. Costumes, candy, decorations. It's all about getting the bucks from the public.
So is Christmas. 
But Halloween costumes can be stored to be reused next year, once a firework has burned out it's gone forever. I saw rockets priced at £10!
