Yes, of course. You can make things out of your husband's tartan, your own family tartan, or any other tartan that's not restricted. Look at the "Pixar in Loud MacLeod" thread for some ideas.
You can also make yourself a kilted skirt. They're generally longer than men's kilts, but they don't have to be.
My wife wears an arisaidh, which is just a big piece of double-width tartan, belted around the waist, with the ends free to tie over the shoulder, wear as a hood, tie at the waist to stay out of the way, etc.
