There are plenty of them here in Nor'n Iron. Having said that the local style is a tad too brassy for my taste - too much make up and hair dye... if you know what I mean. It does mean that the truly good lookers do stand out a mile.
The 'Eathen in his idleness bows down to wood and stone,
'E don't obey no orders unless they is his own,
He keeps his side arms awful,
And he leaves them all about,
Until up comes the Regiment and kicks the 'Eathen out.

I've always liked the look of "Archer Green" (as the British army calls it) Argyll jackets with saffron kilts. Actually for several years I wore a dark green Argyll jacket, hose, and Glengarry with a Black Watch kilt for funerals and weddings etc... a quite sombre effect.
Here is our own Dave Gallagher in his saffron kilt, worn with dark green Argyll jacket and waistcoat, hose, and Glengarry. He has matching saffron flashes and a saffron plaid with Tara Brooch. In this photo he's not wearing a sporran.

Personally I prefer brown leather acoutrements with this saffron/green look. I would get a brown leather sporran with nice Celtic knotwork tooling, and brown Ghillie brogues. For the kilt pin I think I would wear a gold-tone Celtic Cross pin. I think I might favour a dark green Balmoral bonnet over the dark green Glengarry.
About the redhead Irish lasses... I married one! (Actually mixed Irish/Scots/Swedish if I recall her ancestry correctly...)

Its probably the same colour but according to the Army 'archer' green is what the Scottish Regiment(s) wear - the Irish Regiment(s) wear 'piper' green.
I get the feeling that the general consensus is that the accessories for the Saffron kilt are the same as for a Scottish kilt except that most people would favour a brown leather sporran rather than a hairy or similar and brogues with an external tongue and a buckle.
Personally I tend to avoid badges and symbols (except for military ones on military occasions). Aesthetically I like celtic knotwork but too much of it is tied up in Christian symbolism and other fantasy stuff that I would want to steer clear of - especially here in Nor'n Iron.

One tends to forget.. that the issues some have to pay attention to..
My family is from the south.. but I come via England.. I would think that wearing the kilt, as anyone would wear clothing.. choose a palette of colors that compliment the kilt, choose the accessories that match your event you are dressing for.. browns for casual, blacks for a more formal, but not limited to as such.
I'll be honest.. I want a hairy... goat hair sporran.. just because it has a significance to me.. as to what goat and sheep meant to my ancestors.. and the commonality it shared with my childrens mothers lineage.. (my kids are half Navajo (a Native American tribe)and sheep and goats are very much a substantial part of their diets).
And yes, I like the buckle brogues, just because I like the classic look.. its just my personal taste.. but hey... why not.. if you like it.. you like it.. if not.. wear what you like.. simple brogues are nice too.. they will always be classic.. not a working man, is without his brogues.
No reason to dress in the military or piper fashion.. dress with a bit of flair and style.. experiement with colors that go well with your kilt.. like I said before.. I like the yellows that go well with it.. and if was not for my girlfriend.. I probably would not have tried the yellows.. I think it looks good.

excuse the quality of the picture.. its just a sample of not looking too military or piperish.. just a regular kilt..
