I don't like to wear my red kilt out, (RS) but I realize it is partly that I really don't like to wear red. Though it works well for around the house. That leaves me with a solid black wool, which I would rather not deal with cleaning, and a swk Gordon. I have a few on my wish list... (FEW?? lezzee Coke box kilt (need to get the permission from Cocacola still), Mich. State University kilt (didn't go there, went to EMU, same school colors, prob need permission for that too) Black Stewart (I have an ancestor or two in that line..), American Heritage USAK, Macdonald of some sort (wife's side), Dress Gordon (my mom's side) and possibly one from my Grandmother's side, we are close to finding out what clan that would be.) That's only 6 or 7 to go... at least 2 wool SWK for camping... anyways....
I don't know if you have to be brave to wear a kilt, the kilt will train you. It does it both quickly and slowly. One day your still trying to center the apron correctly and get the edge to your knees just so, taking minutes in front of a mirror to make sure it's right, then suddenly your jogging down the stairs fastening the buckles and never looking at a mirror even once.

Very funny, and there is nothing wrong with a red tie.

I have to agree -- there's nothing wrong with red, be it red kilt, red tie, etc.
You just have to be careful not to overdo it and wear too much red, or clashing shades of red, but that's true of every color except chartreuse.
In the case of chartreuse, ANY is too much.

In the past I've not been overly fond of wearing red (though I do like wearing maroon), but during the past few years I've started wearing it a bit more red - usually when I feel like making a statement. Not sure what statement I'm making, but I want make one and red seems to be the right medium to do so. Might be a red tie, a red sweater or vest, or who knows what else.

That's a good one. I would not have expected that add-on to the remark Work is the only place I can't wear mine.

I plan to wear my new red tie to the St Andrews Dinner Saturday night with the new hose, red garter ties, leatherneck kilt and new converted jacket from Victoria. Everything except the kilt is on the way. Talk about the last minute!!
Major Jonesing going on here.

Has anyone checked The Farmers' Almanac to see what color next year's power tie is supposed to be?
