Glad to hear I'm in good hands...or at least my jacket is! I just put it in the mail this morning.
Victoria's patient instructions to this nervous and easily confused newbie were: Rather than measure, put the jacket on, then make a mark where you want the bottom of the jacket to be. Usually about the top of the hip bone, but I need at least 5 inches to make the sleeve gauntlets from.
Five inches up seems to actually be the magic number for me. It looks like it'll leave enough space below the pockets so they don't look absurdly low and give her enough material to work her magic with.
