To the OP, in all honesty, if you have any reservations or suspect that others will, go with nothing at all...or better yet, stick a nice folding bottle opener down your sock. It is New Years' Eve, after all!
I was regretting not doing this myself last Saturday...we arrived, and my g/f went to get a glass of wine and found an unopened bottle w/o an opener handy. Had I thought of it beforehand...oh well.
