What a wonderful event. It looks like it was a great day, too. Thanks so much!

Great pictures, Alex. Thanks for posting. A track bike race at the games - how cool is that?

Yes great photos! I too really like the one of those two old gentlemen.
Our band competed at the Bridge of Allan in 2007. It rained all day! The field turned into a muddy quagmire by the end of the day, and the final March Past was cancelled.
Many of the pipe bands' coaches, including ours, got stuck in the mud. Local farmers brought their tractors and helped the coaches out.
Our coach was one of the first ones the tractors reached, but evidently our coach driver tried to tell the farmers how to do their business and they drove off, leaving our coach to last! So us Southern Californians stood for an hour in the rain, very hungy, but nothing to do about it because all the food stands had closed. It was a soggy trip back to Glasgow that night.
The day before, we played at North Berwick in lovely weather.
A week later it also rained all day at the World Pipe Band Championships at Glasgow Green, so we had continuous rain at two of our three Scottish competitions.

I've wanted to go to these , because they're one of the few Games in Scotland that still has backhold wrestling as an event.

Great pictures! Thanks for sharing!
I'll have to try and attend one of those highland games once - it looks like fun!
