Thank you all for the kind words and the warm welcome.

I think I'm going to make a decision without deciding anything. In other words I'll just purchase a kilt for all four family names. Four kilts are better than one, wouldn't you agree?

As far as the Clan Associations go I think I will take Mael Coluim’s and SteveB’s advice and visit those associations websites and booths at the upcoming Frederick Celtic Festival this coming May. I notice that Clan Henderson and Clan Stewart were there last year but no sign of the Hamiltons or Andersons.

Welcome from another displaced Texan in Maryland (County Harford). A good place for buying kilts in Maryland is Irish Traditions in Easton. They've got a bunch of Black Watch kilts they rent for weddings and such. You can try them on to get an idea of what you're dealing with. Plus you can order a custom kilt in whatever tartan you decide.

Actually some of us would not agree that four kilts made out of four different clan tartans is the way to go. Just so you know! In truth the choice is yours, good luck.

Welcome from Eastern Washington State. The Stewards would be a good choice for clan association, although you can join more than one.
    Choose whichever tartan you like.
