Hi,
This is going to be part introduction and part question so please bear with me.
My name is Emmitt Baker and I’m from Texas but I currently reside in Maryland. I sort of stumbled across this site while looking for patterns to make a Braemar a few weeks ago and have been lurking ever since. The sheer amount of information on the forum is amazing. As is the helpfulness of everyone on this board.
My Scottish heritage comes from my father through his mother’s side of the family (Henderson, Anderson, Hamilton, Stewart, and beyond) according to years of research by my Aunt. She managed to trace everything back to as far as the 1100’s before she passed due mostly to the Anderson side of the family’s inability to throw anything away (thank goodness! ). Hopefully my cousins will pick up where she left off.
Which leads me to ask the question: Which tartan? It was a long line of Stewarts, Hamiltons, and Andersons right up to the point a Henderson (Great Grandfather) and a Baker (Grandfather) muddied the waters.
I’m also interested in joining a Clan Association but again, which one?
Anyway, it appears I have meandered off the page so in summation, my name is Emmitt and I’m damned glad to be here!

A warm Norwegian welcome is coming your way from Cranfield, UK!
In regards of the tartan, I would look them all up and choose the one that you find most appealing! That is, if there is one of the family branches you for some reason fancy more than the others, I would have given that branch more weight in the whole decision process. Best of luck to you and again, welcome!
